Who is sunday?
Sunday Avanti, MLIS (they/them) is a Black, queer, disabled artist, illustrator, and archivist from Atlanta, Georgia, creating work and telling stories to help you feel a little more seen and a little less alone.

Sunday grew up playing five instruments and dreaming of being a professional ballet dancer, an astronomer, and an artist. (What a magnificent combination!) Growing up, they rarely saw themself in the books they loved to read. They now create the stories they once needed as a young Black queer child growing up in the South.

At their core, Sunday is a storyteller. Their work celebrates everyday moments, Black queer and trans joy, and the power of chosen family. Sunday's work is known for its dedication to uplifting BIPOC queer and trans experiences as well as its colorful, cozy, and rich depictions of queer life.

When they are not in the studio, you can usually find them playing ukulele on the front porch, taking care of their plants, or picking out new books instead of reading the ones they already have.
