affirmations holiday card
As the end of the year came to a close, Affirmations Pride Center in Ferndale, Michigan, commissioned a holiday card to send out to donors and supporters of their 2025 season.
Process
concept sketches
I provided the client with three concept sketches that explored themes of pride and inclusivity and winter imagery. The client also wanted to honor older donors and longtime supporters of the Affirmations Pride Center. At the same time, I aimed to give the final illustration a magical wintry atmosphere that felt soft, warm, and inviting.

The client decided to move on with the Design 3 pose and expand on the wintry trees in Design 1. We also decided to add the Detroit skyline in the background, which is visible from Ferndale, to make the design more exclusive to Michigan.
final illustration
The final illustration uses blues, pinks, and purples to emphasize the winter atmosphere and create a sense of warmth and magic. The background design was intentionally kept minimal to keep the viewers' attention on the characters and their connection.
