I purchased this sketchbook on a whim, in an art supply shop in Birmingham, Alabama, in the spring of 2024. I wanted something small enough to travel with but big enough to rest my hand comfortably. I experimented with monochromatic and duotone gouache portraits, and journaling about how it felt to paint on that day. Watch my first painting in this sketchbook below.
